Théophile Nael was one of the star performers of the opening round in Melbourne, achieving a podium finish in his maiden Feature Race in Formula 3.

In a wet race, the Van Amersfoort Racing driver drove admirably, but now we are giving him a different type of test. We recently sat down with the French rookie and gave him some Would You Rather questions…

Would You Rather be a famous singer or famous actor?

“A famous actor. I think it would be cool to be popular, and I like doing many things, and I like to discover many things and acting would be one of them.”

Win your home race once or Monaco Grand Prix three times?

“The Monaco Grand Prix three times.”

Win the Indy 500 or the 24 Hours of Le Mans?

“It has to be 24 Hours of Le Mans, it is just so historic.”

Wins from Pole or win from last on the grid?

“Win from last. It's better to overtake some cars then win, it's just funny and better that way.”

Drive on a permanent circuit or a street track?

“A street circuit. I really like Macau. I did it last year, and it was really fun. I was in P6, but then I had a crash. But what can I say, that's Macau.”

Karaoke or dance off?

“Karaoke. I don't really have a main song, I don’t know who to pick. Maybe I’ll pick Beyonce like everybody else. Okay, let’s go for Beyonce.”

Would You Rather be front row at fashion week or at the Oscars?

“Fashion week. I'm a fashion guy. My favourite brand… I would say Louis Vuitton.”

Too hot or too cold?

“Too hot. This right now is too cold for me, so I'd rather to be too hot.”

Be an astronaut or a rockstar?

“Rockstar. I don't have any rockstar in mind, I don't know, but I'd rather be a rockstar, so I'll pick that one.”

Fly to space and discover a new planet, or go in a submarine and discover a new underwater kingdom?

“Discover a new underwater kingdom. Like I said, I like to discover many things, so I think I'll go underwater. For me, the idea of discovering something is always great.”

Eat with a spoon or a fork for the rest of your life?

“Fork. Oh, for ice cream it's bad. But I prefer a fork, so I'll pick the fork.”

Communicate telepathically or know every single language on the planet?

“I'd love to communicate through the mind, it seems really cool.”

Drive with Wet tyres in the dry or dry tyres in the wet?

“Dry tyres in the wet. There is no grip, but we will have to find it.”

“A marathon. I run a little bit. I prefer cycling, but I run a bit.”

Be chronically under-dressed or overdressed?

“Under dressed. I'm not going to turn up in pyjamas, I think we are going a bit far doing that, so I'll change and I'll go for overdressed now.”
