Following today’s FIA Formula 3 Feature Race at Silverstone, Ernesto Rivera and several other drivers have been handed penalties.

Firstly, Ernesto Rivera has been given a five-second time penalty for failing to follow the race Director’s competition notes in relation to weaving after the bridge between Turn 14 and 15.

The Race Director instructed the drivers that weaving is not permitted after the bridge between Turn 14 and Turn 15 during the Team Managers and Driver Meeting.

The Stewards examined video evidence and heard from both the driver and a Campos Racing representative.

It was determined that Car 3 was weaving after the bridge approaching Turn 15, and the Stewards imposed a five-second time penalty in line with previous precedent.

This drops Rivera out of the podium places.

Secondly, James Wharton has also been given a five-second penalty for weaving after the bridge between Turn 14 and 15.

The Stewards examined video evidence and spoke to both the driver and a PREMA Racing representative.

Having considered the matter, the Stewards imposed a five-second time penalty in line with previous precedents.

Alessandro Giusti has also been given a five-second time penalty for failing to follow the race Director’s competition notes in relation to weaving after the bridge between Turn 14 and 15.

The Stewards examined video evidence and spoke to Giusti and an MP Motorsport representative. Having considered the matter, the Stewards imposed a five-second time penalty in line with previous precedents.

Lastly, Nandhuvad Bhirombhakdi has also been given a five-second time penalty for exceeding track limits on five different occasions.

The Stewards received a report from the Race Director and reviewed video evidence and determined that Car 30 exceeded track limits on five separate occasions.

They therefore handed him a five-second time penalty.
