MP Motorsport’s Mattia Colnaghi is the latest rookie on the 2026 FIA Formula 3 grid to tackle our Would you Rather questions.
From fame, food and being fast to motorsport dreams and in between, here is how the Italian got on.
Would you rather be a famous singer or a famous actor?
“Famous actor. Yeah, I'm not a big singing fan. I do love blasting music in the shower but not singing.”
Would you rather be YouTube famous or TikTok famous?
“YouTube, I think. You can post longer videos on YouTube, make like vlogs. I'm kind of more intrigued by that stuff. So we might see a vlog in the future.”
Would you rather be able to only shout all the time or whisper all the time?
“Shout. Yeah it might be a bit embarrassing in public, but it's better than not being heard.”
Would you rather have everything you eat be too sweet or too savoury?
“Too savoury. Yeah? I'm not a very big sweet fan. Sometimes I like something sweet, but I do think it becomes a lot very easily, whereas I can eat more, like higher quality of savoury food.”
Would you rather eat burgers or ice cream for a whole week?
“I mean, as an Italian, I shouldn't be saying this, but I'm not a very big ice cream fan, to be honest. Sometimes, but it's a very rare occasion.”
Would you rather win your home Grand Prix once or the Monaco Grand Prix multiple times?
“Probably Monaco Grand Prix multiple times.”
Would you rather win the Indy 500 or the 24 Hours of Le Mans?
“24 Hours of Le Mans. I'm much more into endurance racing. I would love to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in Hypercar. I've watched it multiple years in a row, obviously, but in person, I haven’t seen it.”
Would you rather win from pole or win from last on the grid?
“Win from last on the grid. It's more spectacular, although getting the pole and getting the hattrick is satisfactory, but from last is more fun.”
Do you prefer a permanent track or a street circuit?
“Street circuit, no doubt, especially after visiting Macau the last two years. It's something else.”
Would you rather win the title without taking a win, or take multiple wins that season but miss out on the title?
“Take multiple wins and miss out on the title, although having the title is very important. Obviously, it's the objective of any racing driver. Showing standout performances and showing you have the pace to win a race is very important also, in my opinion.”
Would you rather have to eat with a spoon or a fork for the rest of your life?
“This is tough. I'm not so sure on this one. I'm tempted to go with fork because I'm probably going to eat more pasta than rice. I'm more a pasta type of guy, so I'm going to go with fork.
Dry tyres on a wet track or wet tyres on a dry track?
“Dry tyres on a wet track. I mean, I don't know what the others went for this, but for me, it's quite nice to find the grip on the slicks even with a drying track and far off the rears, you know?”
Would you rather be able to read people's minds or know every language in the world?
“Probably know every language in the world. At the moment, I can speak Spanish, Argentinian, Italian, and English.”
Would you rather be underdressed or overdressed to an event?
“Probably overdressed. I think, although it might be a bit cocky sometimes, it's better to be overdressed for an event than to be underdressed 100%.”
