Rodin Motorsport’s Piotr Wisnicki is next up as we get to know the Polish driver a little bit better. He talks about his start in motorsport back in karts where he enjoyed some of his favourite racing memories.

He also goes into detail about his racing hero Sebastian Vettel, as well as why he thinks he’d make for a very pacey football player in a video game.

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST RACING MEMORY?

“In 2009, I was really small and did a race in karts, I was really young, and I remember I went out the wrong way onto the track! That is my earliest racing memory.”

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RACING STYLE?

“I would say I’m picking my spots quite carefully. I don’t feel that I’m rushing all the time, just trying to make sure I’m being smooth with my driving, patient but when there’s an opportunity, I’m going for it.”

WHO IS YOUR RACING HERO?

“Sebastian Vettel. I remember in the first few years when I was watching F1, I think it was 2012 when he spun at the start at Turn 4 in Brazil in the wet, then he came back and secured the Championship. Half of my family was supporting Fernando Alonso, and I was supporting Vettel. So, there was a bit of a divide in my family for that race.”

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST RACING ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?

“Honestly, I would say fourth in the grand final in the Rotax Max Challenge, in 2015, I’d spent a few years in karting by then. It was a bit messy, I was so excited, I was second in Qualifying and then I got hit so I was at the back and made up places, so many overtakes in the heats and then in the final I was in P3, trying to hold onto that place but I lost speed on one of the straights and finished fourth in the end. I’d lost power because of a washer around the exhaust area, and I lost some power because of that which was a shame because I was so young, but I had a busy weekend.”

DO YOU HAVE A SECRET TALENT?

“99 pace. If I had an Ultimate Team card, I’d have 99 pace and shooting. I run pretty fast, my cooking isn’t bad either I think, and I’m pretty strong in the gym.”

WHAT DO YOU DO TO RELAX AWAY FROM RACING?

“Hitting the gym, playing darts, but I’m really bad. I remember posting a story on Instagram hitting a treble 20 and I posted it because I could never repeat that again.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TRACK ON THE F3 CALENDAR?

“Monaco. It’s weird because the F3 paddock is so far away but it’s such a tough track and I love it.”
