With the end of the 2024 season in the books, the Formula 3 Prize Giving Ceremony was a final celebratory event to bring the paddock together one last time before the winter break.
While the top three in the Teams’ and Drivers’ Championships were celebrated, several more awards were presented throughout the evening. After impressing in his maiden Formula 3 season, Arvid Lindblad secured the Aramco Best Rookie Award.
The Red Bull Junior Team driver was a race winner at the first time of asking, winning on debut in the Sakhir Sprint Race at the beginning of the year, and he’d add a second win in the Barcelona Feature Race before his best weekend of the year at Silverstone.
He became the first driver in FIA Formula 3 history to win all races on the same weekend, taking top honours in the Sprint and Feature Races at Silverstone for PREMA Racing.
“Thank you very much to Aramco for the Best Rookie trophy, it's going to look amazing in the cabinet, what an amazing addition. Really grateful to them. It’s a fantastic award, shows the effort and the work we put in. It’s a very challenging step, especially after only one step in F4. To be competitive, to be at the front and to be top rookie, it’s a really great achievement and I’m grateful to everyone at Red Bull and PREMA for helping me to make it happen.”
Lindblad finished fourth in the Standings with four race wins across the 2024 campaign, a record-breaking total for victories in a rookie F3 season and tying the high-water mark for total wins by a driver in the Championship.
His wins and points also helped PREMA to secure their third-consecutive Teams’ title and fifth in total, an achievement Lindblad said was “fantastic.”
“It means a lot. They’ve given us a fantastic car, so it was my job to go out there, drive it fast and score points. Grateful to them for giving us the car and hopefully they’re grateful to us for doing the job!”
