Enjoy some downtime fishing on a lake: Piotr Wisnicki on his hometown

Fresh off the back of four days of in-season testing in Barcelona and Imola, Piotr Wisnicki has a chance to enjoy a break from behind the wheel before the 2023 campaign recommences next month.

We caught up with the PHM Racing by Charouz rookie to find out more about where he calls home and it's close-knit community.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?

"I grew up in a small village called Żelechów in Poland. We have around three to four thousand people living there. It was really nice growing up there because everybody knows each other."

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE IT TO SOMEONE?

"It's got a few lakes and most of the village is flat, so it's nice."

WHAT LANGUAGES ARE SPOKEN THERE?

“Everybody there speaks Polish."

WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE?

“In the summer, I think the highest temperatures we have are around 35°C, but when I was about seven years old, the coldest weather we had was around -5°C."

WHERE SHOULD TOURISTS VISIT?

"I would take them fishing, I really like it but at the moment I don't have a lot of time to do it."

FAVOURITE PLACE TO GO FOR FOOD?

"We don't really have any restaurants, so I think I'd go with them to eat a pizza! My favourite pizza is Hawaiian."

MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHERE CAN WE GO KARTING?

"There's not any tracks near us, I think the nearest one is about 80km from me. It's really close to Warsaw, which is our main city. We'd go there a few times a week because there's a highway to there."
