PREMA Racing’s Noel Léon was content with points after finishing seventh in the Silverstone Sprint Race, but the Mexican driver wasn’t celebrating the result too much.

He reflected afterwards that while a top 10 finish was a positive result, things needed to be smoothed out going into Sunday’s Feature Race, and he’s hopeful of finding a few more tenths in pace going into tomorrow.

“Quite a difficult race to be honest for me. I got the anti-stall at the start, and we lost a few positions at the beginning.

“Then we were struggling a bit in terms of pace. We need to analyse what is happening because it had been quite strong, so we need to be better for tomorrow because I was missing a little bit today. We maximised what we had today, just need to look over things for tomorrow.”

Recent races have brought more points for PREMA, after the reigning Champions made a slower than hoped for start to 2025.

Léon says that he sees the progress the team is making, and was instead focused on his own performance improving to match that trajectory.

With teammate Ugo Ugochukwu in the top five in the two most recent races, the PREMA driver says that he has a clear target to aim for going forward.

“We’ve been really strong. The team is doing a great job every time and we are getting better and better and better. But at the moment, I just can’t follow that progression from PREMA to be honest.

“If you compare me to Ugo, before we had the same progression and I was quite good and consistent compared to my teammates, but now, let’s say I’m not following as much as I should be. We need to keep analysing and keep working and then we’ll be up there again.”

Turning his attentions to Sunday’s race once more, Léon says that the team will take the data from the Sprint and formulate improvements for the Feature.

Tyre degradation in particular will be a focus, as he and the team target more points to carry into the remaining races this season.

“There was a little bit of tyre degradation. I learned a little bit, so I think tomorrow we have another opportunity to go again and fight for it.

“I hope the weather will still be the same, because if it rains it’ll be a bit trickier. But we’ll try our best and focus on what we need to try and match the performance of the team.

“I hope to be in the points. If I can add to that, it would be great to be honest. We’re in the points today but tomorrow, we start P10 so we are on the edge of no points at all, so to be in the points is the goal.”
